Terrified Screech (Personal Post)

So, I posted in Tumblr the other day that I was worried about my (working) teenager and how he was taking private phonecalls at strange times, he was seen with men in suits in fancy cars, he was being secretive and his boss turned up at midnight.
Anyhow, it turned out that owners of the hotel and restaurant he was working for were having difficulties, having overstretched a little with several hotels, and the manager, the chef and himself were looking for a business they could run together. To be fair they make a pretty amazing team.
Anyhow: Update
They have a pub/eighty seat restaurant with Punch Pubs. They have the keys and have quit their current jobs.
A RESTAURANT with two bars. I need a stiff drink but at least I know a pub to get one.
Here it is

It's just outside town, opposite an industrial estate and on the cross section of two major routes and it's the last/first pub in England on the A1 - so yeah, no pressure (lol)

It needs a DEEP clean and clearout and is being refurbished by the brewery so I have volunteered with cleaning and weeding the garden as they won't be paying themselves until they are making money and any staff are paid so its in my interests to speed that up since this teen lives with me.
It won't be the very fancy and expensive style of the hotel they have come from but they are aiming to be family friendly and have simple pub grub with a lot of local and in season food. (Expect Eyemouth fish, Scottish beef and great vegetables!)
It is a huge risk but the manager has 20+ years in the business and a lot of contacts, the chef is young and energetic and makes great (and good looking) food and Ashley has experience since 12yrs old in restaurants and takeaways (middle finger up to the critics who said I shouldn't let my kid work part time during school years) as well as the last 8 months training to be a restaurant supervisor. They all have a lot of energy and enthusiasm and are willing to do the hard work themselves. It is going to be stressful and I am going to hate watching him go through the hard days but holy hell - this place has huge potential, a reasonable reputation, ran smoothly for 20 years or so and only faltered under the last management.
Please cross fingers and toes for them to succeed. It is hard to get a job around here, harder to find it doing what you love and a brave move to reach out and make the business they want to work in.
Also, if you're driving to/from Edinburgh on the A1 and feel yourself getting a little hungry or thirsty near the border - do remember there's a great little pub on the Berwick roundabout!
